This notice explains what FIELDWATER collects through the website, Field Notes email list, and prelaunch giving-intention forms, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide
When you join FIELDWATER Field Notes, we collect your email address, your optional first name, and information associated with the signup such as time and source. If you plan future support, we also collect your email address and latest chosen amount, one-time or monthly frequency, preferred purpose, and submission information. A giving intention is nonbinding and is not a donation or subscription. Our forms may also process limited technical information used to prevent abuse. When you contact us directly, we receive the information you choose to include in your message.
How we use it
We use Field Notes information to send Project Zero updates, field notes, organizational news, and occasional fundraising messages. We use giving-intention information to send a launch invitation and understand interest in future giving; if you uncheck Field Notes, the intention does not enroll you in those updates. No intention counts toward funds raised. We use direct-contact information to respond, maintain appropriate organizational records, protect the organization, and comply with legal obligations.
Email provider and consent
FIELDWATER uses Mailchimp, an Intuit service, to manage subscriptions and deliver email. Information submitted through our forms is transferred to Mailchimp for processing under its own privacy terms. The Field Notes form requests ongoing email updates. The giving-intention form requests a launch invitation and includes a preselected Field Notes option that you can uncheck before submitting. Both use single-step email signup, without a second confirmation step. We keep the two email preferences separate in the mailing audience.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every FIELDWATER marketing email. You can also update your email preferences through the link in those messages. You may also email hello@fieldwater.org to request access, correction, or deletion of mailing-list information associated with you. We may retain a limited suppression record so that an unsubscribed address is not accidentally added again.
Retention and sharing
We retain mailing-list information while you remain subscribed or while it is reasonably needed for the purposes described here. FIELDWATER does not sell or rent personal information. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the website, deliver email, protect our systems, or meet legal obligations.
Technical information
Our hosting, security, and email providers may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect their services, such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, form source, and security logs. FIELDWATER does not currently use this information to build advertising profiles.
Cookies and measurement
FIELDWATER does not currently run advertising pixels or a marketing analytics program on this site. If measurement or advertising tools are added, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before they are used.
Donations
Public fundraising has not opened. Before online donations begin, FIELDWATER will identify the payment provider, explain the information involved, and publish the applicable donation terms.
